Andrew Dibben

Owner of AJ’s Studio

I have never completely trusted any of the previous PPC agencies we’d worked with or looked to use, but straight away I knew Harry and Matt were different.

With most agencies it feels like 50% of the money paid to them is wasted. It’s almost as if they are doing half a job, but with This Digital, I feel like we are getting 110% from every pound.

I know better than most how easy it is to throw good money after bad at Google Ads and hoping for the best, but now I’m This Digital I am seeing record-breaking sales figures and now fully understand where every penny goes, and this is during the COVID era! If anyone needs any reassurances or convincing of why to work with This Digital, then they should talk to me.

FAQs

Some Frequently Asked Questions about our PPC Management services.

What is PPC and how does it work?

Pay-Per-Click or PPC is a form of digital marketing which enables advertisers to display ads to people that are searching for terms related to their business, predominantly using Google Ads (AdWords) and Microsoft Ads (Bing Ads).

For example, if you sold digital cameras, you would be able to show in the Google search results whenever someone searched for ‘digital camera’, meaning you would be able to reach new audiences who may never of found your website otherwise. Most of the time, PPC works on a cost-per-click (CPC) model where you (the advertiser) sets a bid, for example £0.25 and every time a user clicks on that ad sending them to your website, it will cost you that amount.

Most of the time, PPC works on a cost-per-click (CPC) model where you (the advertiser) pay when a user clicks on one of your ads.”

How do you measure PPC?

The success of your PPC account depends on your goals as a business, but generally our clients fall into one of two categories: eCommerce and Lead Generation.

Measuring PPC for eCommerce

For eCommerce businesses, the key metrics used to measure the success of a PPC campaign is ROAS (Return on Ad Spend): (Revenue generated by ads / Advertising spend = ROAS).

ROAS is different for every eCommerce business, and should be based on several factors, such as your products’ profit margins, the competitiveness of your industry, and your current business goals.

Measuring PPC for Lead Generation

If you are using PPC to generate leads for your business, then the key metric to measure your success should be CPA (Cost Per Acquisition): (Advertising spend / Conversions = CPA).

CPA targets also vary from business to business, and should relate to how valuable a converted lead is to your business.

How is PPC different to SEO?

PPC is a type of paid advertising that allows you to place ads on Google and other search engine platforms. The key difference between PPC and SEO is that with PPC, you pay for your ad to be shown and results can be generated almost instantly (when done correctly), while with SEO, you don’t pay for your ad but instead focus on optimising your website and creating content for your targeted audiences so it appears higher in search results.

SEO is a slower process which requires much more time to achieve success, but is still an important channel in the marketing mix.

What platforms can I advertise on using PPC?

By far, Google Ads is the most popular PPC platform due to it’s intent-driven nature and the fact it has over 5 billion searches daily – that’s a lot of opportunity for advertising.

Other PPC platforms include:

  • Microsoft Ads
  • Facebook Ads
  • Instagram Ads
  • LinkedIn Ads
  • Twitter Ads
  • Pinterest Ads
